Manfrotto School of Xcellence, the educational platform by the world leader in the equipment and accessories industry for photography and imaging, is proud to announce the launch of a new section devoted to videography.

Videography is literally the process of capturing moving images with a video camera and, basically, includes two main moments: video production and post-production.

On the occasion of the launch, the entire process will be analysed in details by the famous director and producer Tommaso Cariboni through a series of funny video tutorials. With the help of two actors, Phil and Fabio, infact, he will unveil the secrets of the perfect video maker with a very unconventional, ironic style.

He will start since the very beginning, explaining that taking care of all the electronic equipment is the first step to succeed, that the best way to avoid shaky results is to use a tripod with fluid head. Then, he will go on exploring the main rules that are to be followed before shooting a specific scene.

Tommaso Cariboni worked on these funny sketches with the aim of hitting the mind of those who are going to watch his videos, transferring the fundamentals to approach the fantastic and complex world of videography.

His tutorials are available at the following link:

 (1971 – not yet)

I was born on Comolake where some very interesting men have lived and prospered (like Wiston Churchill, Vincenzo Bellini, Henri-Marie Beyle aka Stendhal and lately George Clooney).

I went to school in Lecco and enjoyed a lot the climbing and the skiing in the area. I have a degree in law that has never been useful so far.

I then moved to Paris where I worked for a few years producing tv shows, from fashion to animals. Back in Italy I was called to work as a producer in Brw & Partners, producing commercials worldwide.

I went back to France then in Italy again and worked as a producer for a while before jumping into directing a little while ago.

Since then I have been shooting commercials, documentary films, corporate videos and short feature films. I won the 2008 Cannes Young Directors Award and that made me proud (my mum too).

In the meanwhile I have also been writing for agencies and magazines and worked for the IUAV University of Venice where I worked with some very relevant people (like Luca Ronconi, Joseph Kosuth, Marina Abramovic and Massimo Magrì) .

A few year ago I joined a creative digital agency called Studio Visuale based in Venice, city where some very interesting men have lived and prospered (like Luca Goldoni, Marco Polo, Giacomo Casanova and lately Tommy V).
I moved to London a couple of years ago because I'm sure that's a city where some very interesting men have lived and prospered as well.

  1. Worse? - worsest!! says:

Haven’t seen so much crap concentrated in one single movie in only 2 minutes.. no substance. Special effects for the sake of the effect, not funny, no guidance and even worse, no content. It may be art, but I would be ashamed having filmed such …
If that is Manfrotto style, well I should send mine back… Shameful!
